Bolts of fastening of a flange of the final pipeline | 21 Nm |
Oxygen sensor | 45 Nm |
Removing
Place the car on a two post lift.
Disconnect the battery.
Remove the downstream oxygen sensor connector from the holder by sliding it (1).
Disconnect the downstream oxygen sensor connector.
Place a hydraulic jack under the catalytic converter.
Determine the cutting area of the catalytic converter.
With the aid of a fixture (Mot. 1199-01) for cutting exhaust pipes in the cutting area.
Remove:
- exhaust pipe flange bolts (2),
- catalytic Converter,
- exhaust manifold gasket.
When replacing the catalytic converter: Remove the downstream oxygen sensor from the catalytic converter.
Installation
Attention! To ensure sealing, mating surfaces must be clean, dry and free of oil (don't touch them with your fingers).
Clean the bearing surfaces of the catalytic converter with wheels to matt the surface.
Degrease the bearing surfaces of the catalytic converter with a surface cleaner and a clean rag.
Parts that must be replaced: the ring between the exhaust manifold and the catalytic converter.
Install:
- downstream oxygen sensor (when replacing a catalytic converter),
- catalytic converter.
Install a new aftermarket coupler between the catalytic converter and the aftermarket muffler.
Important note! Position the coupling bolt and clamp nut so that they do not come into contact with the body.
Tighten the clutch bolt to relieve the exhaust piping and ensure it is level.
Torque tighten:
- exhaust pipe flange bolts (21 Nm),
- oxygen sensor (45 Nm).
Connect the battery.
Check:
- the presence and reliable fastening of all thermal screens of the exhaust pipeline,
- lack of contact with the bottom of the body.
Start the engine.
Check for leaks, repair if found.
