Charger connection
1. Remove the plastic cover.
2. Connect the positive wire to the positive pole of the battery and the negative wire to the negative pole.
3. When using the charger, you must remove the cables from the battery.
4. The gas generated during charging must exit through the ventilation holes in the case.
5. The charging current at the beginning should be about 10% of the battery capacity (e.g. 6.0 A with 60 Ah battery) and automatically decrease during charging.
6. When charging the battery, distilled water partially decomposes. The resulting hydrogen and oxygen vapors are dangerous explosive gases.
7. When charging the battery, do not smoke or use open fire near it, take care of good ventilation of the room.
8. Spark discharges when disconnected from the terminal or when connected to the terminal of the battery charger or battery cable may ignite oxyhydrogen gas.
Fast battery charging
If you are in a hurry, you can leave your battery for charging at a car repair shop. An hour later, the battery will be charged again. In doing so, remember the following:
1. Older batteries can cost fast charging «life».
2. Disconnect both cables from the battery. High charging current can damage the sensitive electronic components of the Renault 19.
