Starter — repair

The vehicles described can be fitted with Paris-Rhone, Valeo or Mitsubishi starters. Individual starters are equipped with a reduction gear to increase starting torque.

The starter can be replaced. For economic reasons, it is not recommended to repair it. The sliding electro-graphite contacts cannot be changed individually, since they are mounted in the brush holder and are connected to the winding of the pole coils.

If the brushes are worn out, the starter must be replaced. This also applies to carbon brushes. They carry high voltages that could cause injury if removed.
