Windshield wiper
In cold weather, before turning on the windshield wipers for the first time, you should check to see if the blades are frozen.
The windshield wiper and washer control lever can be installed in the following positions (see picture)
Windshield wiper and washer control lever positions: 0 - disabled; 1 - intermittent movement of the brushes; 2 - slow movement of the brushes; 3 - rapid movement of brushes; 4 - windshield washer and headlight wiper (only with headlights on); 5 - rear window wiper; 6 - rear window washer; 7 - adjustment of intermittent brush movement
- position (0): turned off;
- position (1): intermittent movement of the brushes. In this position of the switch, between two subsequent strokes, the wiper blades stop for a while. The length of time the brushes stop can be adjusted by rotating the adjusting central ring of the lever. Turning the ring up increases the duration of the pause;
- position (2): slow continuous movement of the brushes;
- position (3): fast continuous movement of the brushes.
Note. When the ignition is turned off and the windshield wipers are operating, the wiper blades may stop in any position. To stop the blades in their original position, before turning off the ignition, set the wiper switch lever to the position (0).
Windshield washer
To turn on the windshield washer, move the lever towards the steering wheel, regardless of the position of the lever.
If necessary, use a pin to adjust the direction of the jets of liquid applied to the glass. In summer, add a special detergent to the liquid, and in winter, add an agent that prevents the liquid from freezing.
Headlight washer
The headlight washer functions only when the headlights are on and the windshield washer is operating.
Rear window wiper
To turn on the rear window wiper, turn the ring located at the end of the windshield wiper handle until the mark aligns with the first symbol.
Rear window washer
To turn on the rear window washer when the ignition is on, turn the rear window wiper activation ring located at the end of the switch lever until the mark on the ring aligns with the second symbol on the lever. Once the ring is released, it will automatically return to the rear window wiper operating position.
Note. Depending on the vehicle's equipment, when the rear window wiper is operating, opening the rear door or rear window will cause the windshield washer to stop operating.
Windshield washer fluid reservoir
Location of the windshield washer fluid reservoir cap
The windshield washer fluid reservoir is located in the engine compartment near the left fender. Depending on the vehicle model, it also provides headlight washer fluid.
In summer, add a special detergent to the liquid, and in winter, add an agent that prevents the liquid from freezing.
