Removal without hinges: This method is mainly used when replacing the tailgate.
Removal using hinges: This method is mainly used when replacing the body and installing the tailgate.
Disconnect the battery. Remove an upholstery of a door of a back.
Tailgate upholstery
Remove the middle cover.
Remove the side trims.
Loosen the screws (1) and remove the tailgate trim.
When installing, check the condition of the latches, if necessary, replace them.
Disconnect connectors:
- rear window wiper motor;
- door lock;
- tailgate opening switch;
- rear window heating element;
- upper brake light;
- antennas;
- tailgate lights.
Remove:
- tailgate wiring harness;
- rear window washer tube;
- tailgate stops.
Tailgate stops
Note. The gas-filled stop is installed so as to prevent leakage. Before removing the gas-filled stop, mark the installation direction (body and stem position), to restore it to its original position.
Detach the clips (1), without removing them.
Remove the gas-filled stop of the tailgate (2), holding the door up.
Crease without loops
Turn away bolts (1) and remove the tailgate (the operation is performed together with an assistant).
Removal using hinges
Loosen the nuts (2) and remove the tailgate (the operation is performed together with an assistant).
