- (R1): distance between the floor and the axis of rotation of the front wheel.
- (R2): distance between the floor and the axis of rotation of the rear wheel.
Front body height (W1) is the height between the floor and the head of the rear crossmember mounting bolt.
Radius under load (Megane III)
Radius under load (Fluence)
Rear body height (W2) is the height between the floor and the shaft of the rubber bushing on the bearing.
Measurement procedure
Note. When measuring values (W1) And (W2) take into account the difference in height between the platforms and the lifting mechanism.
Measure the heights: R, R2 and W1 - W2 on the right and left sides.
Note. The Wx value to be recorded on the measuring stand is the average of the heights W1 and W2 on the right and left sides.
If the measuring points are located in an accessible place (between the rails of the lifting mechanism), use a ruler.
Platform above lifting mechanism
Measure Heights (1), (2), (3).
Example: (1) = 13 cm, (2) = 8 cm, (3) = 10 cm.
Calculate Wx height: Wx = height (1) + height (3) - height (2), Wx = 15 cm.
Platform below hoist
Measure Heights (1), (2), (3).
Example: (1) = 8 cm,. (2) = 10 cm, (3) = 4 cm.
Calculate Wx height: Wx = height (1) + height (2) + height (3), Wx = 22 cm.
Position: car in running order
Vehicle in running order, this is a vehicle with a full tank, unloaded (without cargo in the trunk, etc.).
Megane III:
- (W1) - 164 mm.
- (W2) - 246 mm.
Fluence:
- (W1) - 184 mm.
- (W2) - 261 mm.
Note. It should be borne in mind that the position of the car changes depending on:
- engine mass;
- installed springs and shock absorbers;
- installed tires;
- fullness of the fuel tank.
