Note. Depending on the configuration of the Megane III car, deflectors 4 can be replaced by a glove box.
Note. Using the air recirculation mode for a long time can cause fogging of the windshield and side windows, as well as unpleasant odors, since the air in the vehicle interior is not renewed.
Therefore, it is recommended that as soon as the need for air recirculation disappears, return to the normal operation of the system.
Turning on the windshield defrost function, in order to avoid the risk of fogging, does not allow you to turn on the air recirculation mode and entails the automatic activation of the air conditioner and the built-in signal lamp.
Auto mode
The automatic air conditioning system guarantees (except for extreme weather conditions) good visibility and comfortable conditions in the passenger compartment with optimal fuel consumption. The system controls the ventilation speed, air distribution, air recirculation, air conditioning on or off, and air temperature. In this mode, there are three programs to choose from.
- AUTO: optimal mode to achieve the selected comfort level depending on the external conditions. Press button 3.
- SOFT: softer mode to achieve the desired level of comfort. The comfort level is maintained in a relaxed and less noisy mode. Press button 2.
- FAST: the action of the system is activated to achieve the desired level of comfort more quickly. Use this program if you are carrying passengers in the rear seats. Press button 4.
Function «providing an overview»
Press button 10, the built-in signal lamp lights up.
This function provides quick heating and ventilation of the windshield, rear window, front side windows and exterior mirrors (depending on vehicle configuration). At the same time, the air conditioning system and the electric heating of the rear window are forcibly switched on.
To turn off the heated rear window, press button 9, the built-in warning light goes out.
To change the air supply speed, press button 12.
Manual air conditioner controls:
1 - air temperature adjustment;
2 - adjustment of the speed of the supplied air;
3 - inclusion of the air conditioning system;
4 - distribution of air flows entering the cabin;
5 - heating / blowing the rear window and, depending on the configuration of the car, rear-view mirrors;
6 - air recirculation.

Turning the air conditioner on or off
In automatic mode, the system switches the air conditioner on or off depending on the external climatic conditions.
Press button 8 to quickly turn off the air conditioner, the built-in signal lamp will light up and the message «AC OFF» will appear on display 13.
Note. After prolonged operation of the air conditioner, especially in hot weather, puddles of water may appear under the car - this is due to moisture condensation on the evaporator and is not a sign of a malfunction and should not cause concern.
Fuel consumption
The operation of the air conditioning system leads to an increase in fuel consumption, especially when driving in urban areas.
In vehicles equipped with an air conditioning system without automatic mode, turn off the air conditioner when it is not needed.
Faults
In most cases, when a system malfunction is detected, contact the service station.
The reason for the decrease in the efficiency of the heating and defroster system or the operation of the air conditioner may be a dirty filter in the cabin ventilation system.
If there is no air cooling: check the position of the controls and the condition of the fuses. If the problem persists, turn off the system and contact a workshop.
