Disconnect the battery (see Battery: Removal and installation).
Remove the instrument panel lower trim and the UCH (1).
Clutch end travel sensor
Disconnect connector (2) from the pedal travel sensor.
Rotate the clutch pedal travel sensor (3) a quarter turn counterclockwise and remove.
Clutch start sensor
Disconnect connector (4) from the pedal start sensor.
Rotate the clutch pedal travel sensor (5) one eighth of a turn counterclockwise and remove.
Detach ring (6) clutch pedal start sensor.
Attention. In order not to damage the multifunction switch (7):
- move the piston (8) only during the adjustment phase;
- do not make more than three repetitions of size adjustment (X);
- do not separate the piston (8) from the switch (7).
Replace the switch if the stem (8) does not touch the switch or if more than three repetitions of the size adjustment have been made (X).
Measure stem size X (8).
If the X distance is less than 29mm, gently pull the end of the stem to adjust the X distance between 28-29mm.
Install the clutch pedal travel sensor to the pedal assembly.
Lock the clutch pedal travel sensor by turning it ¼ turn clockwise.
Press the clutch pedal by hand.
Note. To perform this operation, the clutch master cylinder must be secured to the clutch pedal.
Maintain the clutch pedal while returning to the up position.
Note. The clutch pedal travel sensor adjusts automatically depending on the position of the pedal.
During automatic adjustment, clicks are heard when passing through the fixed positions.
Clutch pedal travel sensor adjustment
Using a set of feeler gauges, check that the distance (X) equal to 1-2.5 mm. With the clutch pedal held in the up position, a 1 mm thick pad must be installed between the sensor and the clutch pedal.
Do not install a 2.5 mm thick pad between the sensor and the clutch pedal.
Connect the clutch pedal start sensor connector.
Clutch pedal
Disconnect the clutch pedal harness.
Disconnect the clutch master cylinder rod by pressing the latches.
Remove:
- fastening nuts (1);
- clutch pedal.
Note. The clutch pedal nuts must be replaced.
Install the clutch pedal. Torque tighten the clutch pedal nuts 21 Nm in the order shown (2), (3) And (4).
Install the clutch master cylinder rod.
Attach the wiring harness to the clutch pedal.
