Note. For clarity, the replacement of the gear lever is shown on the removed backstage.
You will need: tools needed to remove the exhaust system, floor tunnel lining, and a wrench «at 13».
1. Disconnect fasteners (see «Replacement of elements of system of release of the fulfilled gases») and move the exhaust system aside.
Note. The manufacturer recommends partially removing the exhaust system to remove the gearbox control lever linkage. However, the system can not be disassembled and removed completely. It is enough to disconnect the exhaust pipe from the exhaust manifold, disconnect the suspension cushions of the system in the area of the exhaust gas converter and take the system to the side.
2. Disconnect from the lower end of the gearshift lever the gearshift control linkage (see «Replacing the transmission control drive rod») and take the pull to the side.
3. In the passenger compartment, unfasten the clasp of the upper fastening of the lever cover...
4.... remove the lower cover holder from the hole in the lining of the floor tunnel...
5....and remove the cover by sliding it up the lever.
6. Remove the lining of the floor tunnel (see «Removal and installation of floor tunnel lining») and a noise-insulating cover installed under the cladding.
7. Turn away four nuts of fastening of the scenes to the basis of a body...
8.... and, lowering down the link through the opening in the base of the body, remove it from the car.
9. To replace the gear lever, remove the rocker cover by turning it counterclockwise until the rocker neck pins come out of the cover slots...
10.... and remove the lever together with the support.
11. Install the lever in the yoke and the yoke on the car, as well as all removed parts in the reverse order of removal.
