If, after running in the car, the oil consumption exceeds 0.5 liters per 1000 km, it is necessary to contact the service station of the manufacturer.
Interval: Check the engine oil level regularly, at least before every long trip, to avoid engine damage.
Attention: In case of a rapid or repeated drop in level, contact the manufacturer's service station.
Note: To avoid oil drips, we recommend that you use a funnel when topping up/filling with oil.
Checking the engine oil level
To accurately determine the oil level, it is necessary to park the car on a flat horizontal area and turn off the engine for a long time.
To determine the exact oil level and also to make sure that the maximum permitted oil level has not been exceeded (Exceeding the oil level leads to engine failure), be sure to use an oil dipstick.
- Remove the dipstick and wipe it with a lint-free cloth.
- Insert the dipstick all the way (if the car is equipped «probe plug» (WITH), screw in the plug completely).
- Remove the dipstick again.
- Check the oil level: the level should not be below the mark «MINI» (A) or above label «MAX1» (IN).
After checking the level, insert the dipstick until it stops or tighten the dipstick plug until it stops.
Attention:
- Under no circumstances should the maximum level be exceeded (IN): Exceeding it will damage the engine and catalytic converter.
- If the maximum level is exceeded, do not start the engine and contact the manufacturer's service center.
Topping up/refilling engine oil
Attention: Do not exceed the level «MAX1» and don't forget to replace the plug (1) and probe (2).
A car with a cold engine (e.g. before the first engine start of the day) must be on a horizontal platform.
- unscrew the plug (1).
- Add oil to the level (for reference: the interval between the marks -MINI- and -MAXI- of the probe (2) corresponds to a volume of 1.5-2 liters, depending on the oi model of the engine).
- Wait about 20 minutes for the oil to completely glass.
- Check the oil level with a dipstick (2), as mentioned above.
After checking the level, insert the dipstick until it stops or tighten the dipstick plug until it stops.
Note: Replacement interval: see service book or maintenance and warranty card.
Always check the engine oil level using the dipstick as described above (the oil level must not be below the mark «MINI» and above mark «MAX1» on the dipstick).
Attention:
- It is forbidden to leave the engine running indoors, as the exhaust gases are toxic.
- When working in close proximity to the engine, be aware that it may be hot. Also remember that the cooling fan can turn on at any time. There is a risk of injury.
- If you change the oil when the engine is hot, be careful not to burn yourself with the drained oil. When adding oil, make sure that it does not get on the engine parts: this may cause a fire. Do not forget to tighten the plug correctly, otherwise a fire may occur if oil gets on hot engine parts.
