Check of serviceability and bulkhead of the vacuum pump (diesel engines)

1. The operation of the vacuum pump can be checked with a vacuum gauge.

2. Disconnect the vacuum tube from the pump and connect the vacuum gauge and pump coupler using a piece of hose.

3. Start the engine and let it idle, then measure the pressure generated by the pump (a minute after starting, it should be approximately 500 mm Hg. Art.). If the recorded value is significantly higher, the pump is probably defective. Seek advice from a Renault workshop.

4. The bulkhead of the vacuum pump is not possible, because. its individual components are not sold. If the pump is faulty, replace it.
