Keep gasoline and lubricants away from tires as they can corrode the tire.
When rotating your wheels seasonally, do the following:
- Mark the direction of rotation and installation position of the removed tire or wheel with chalk: ПП - front right, ПЛ - front left, ЗП - rear right. ЗЛ - rear left.
If the seasonal set consists of tires with rims (Fig. 14.6), then the best option would be to hang the wheels by the central hole of the disk or stack them on top of each other (well). You can pump them up a little before this. Tires cannot be stored separately from the rims this way - under the weight of other tires, the sides and treads of the lower tires will deform. The grip on the road will deteriorate, the tires will wear out quickly and unevenly. Tires without rims are stored in an upright position (on the floor or on a shelf), about once a month they need to be turned around their axis. If there is a tube inside the tire, the pressure in it should be significantly reduced. Separately stored tubes should not be crushed or folded, as this leads to the formation of folds and then cracks. Before storage, you can sprinkle them with talc so that they do not stick together.

Wash your wheels before storing them (including inside the rim). Check the wheel balance with all-season tires, as in winter the weights can fly off with the ice. In spring, wheel imbalance can lead to uneven tread wear. Make sure that the tread depth and condition are sufficient for further use: the tread depth should be at least 4 mm (winter tires). If the tire tread is worn down to this limit, it is advisable to replace the tires with new ones.
