Avoid contact of gasoline with skin and clothing, and avoid inhalation of gasoline vapors. Any gasoline that gets on body parts should be wiped off immediately with a clean cloth.
Use unleaded gasoline with an octane rating of 92 or higher to fill your vehicle. Even a small amount of leaded gasoline can cause «poisoning» catalytic converter, which can completely disable the catalytic converter of exhaust gases.
Warning: Fuel nozzles for leaded petrol dispensers (old-style columns with arrow indicators) are distinguished by the increased diameter of the tips. Therefore, to prevent accidental filling with such gasoline, the diameter of the filler neck is made smaller than the diameter of the tips of the guns of these dispensers.
Notes:
- Octane number is an indicator characterizing the detonation resistance of fuel for internal combustion engines. The number is equal to the content (as a percentage by volume) isooctane (2,2,4-trimethylpentane) in its mixture with n-heptane, at which this mixture is equivalent in detonation resistance to the fuel under standard test conditions.
- Iso-octane is difficult to oxidize even at high compression ratios, so its detonation resistance is conventionally equal to 100 units. The combustion of n-heptane in an engine, even at low compression ratios, is accompanied by detonation, so its detonation resistance is taken as 0. For gasolines with an octane number above 100, a conventional scale has been created, which uses isooctane with the addition of various amounts of tetraethyl lead.
- The characteristic metallic ringing during detonation is created by the detonation wave, which is repeatedly reflected from the cylinder walls. During detonation, engine power decreases and its wear accelerates.
The fuel filler cap is located on the right rear fender under a hinged cover.
1. Pull the edge and open the flip cover.
2. Insert the key...
3....turn it clockwise...
4....and open the fuel tank cap.
5. Hang the cork on the hook of the hinged lid.
6. Insert the fuel pump nozzle into the fuel tank filler neck and refuel the vehicle.
Warning: Do not refuel the vehicle after the fuel tap has automatically shut off or after gasoline appears in the filler neck of the fuel tank when refueling with a tap not equipped with an automatic shut-off system. Failure to follow this recommendation may result in excess gasoline spilling out of the fuel tank when the vehicle is parked.
7. If you are filling your car from a canister, insert a special funnel into the fuel tank neck and pour in gasoline from the canister.
Warning: Do not smoke or use open flames when refueling.
8. After refueling, close the cap.
9. Close the hinged lid and remove any gasoline spills with a rag.
