Vehicles manufactured since 4/01 have been serviced every two years or at 30,000 kilometers. The oil, coolant and brake fluid levels, as well as the residual thickness of the brake pads, tire pressure and tire wear, should be checked annually.
Engine
1. Change engine oil and oil filter.
2. Inspect the engine and make sure there is no oil leakage.
3. Cooling and heating systems. Check fluid level, antifreeze concentration. Visually check the radiator for leaks and check that there is no debris on the outside of the radiator.
4. Perform a CO check (idle speed, exhaust system operation, reading of registered trouble codes). The work is done in the workshop.
5. For vehicles with a diesel engine, drain the condensate from the fuel filter.
Front suspension and steering
6. Check the power steering fluid level. Add fluid if necessary
Gearbox, final drive
7. Vehicles with manual transmission. Check the oil level in the box and add oil if necessary.
8. Cars with automatic transmission. Main gear. Change gear oil. Just check the oil level in the final drive.
Body, interior
9. Check up a condition of anticorrosive protection of the bottom and a paint and varnish covering of a body. Repair if necessary.
10. Cars with a diesel engine. Replace heater filter.
11. Check up a condition of seat belts.
12. Lubricate door hinges and hood latch.
Brakes, tires, wheels
13. Brake system. Visually check the tightness and condition of pipelines, hoses, brake cylinders and their connections, and top up the brake fluid level if necessary.
14. Disc brakes. Check the residual thickness of the brake pads.
15. Tires. Check the remaining tread height of the tires, including the spare wheel, and tire pressure. Check tire wear and damage patterns. Tighten the wheel bolts to 90 Nm.
Electrical equipment
16. Check up a condition and functioning of all consumers of an onboard electric network.
17. Check the operation of the lighting equipment, and if necessary, adjust the tilt of the headlights.
18. Check the operation of the horn.
19. Check up a condition of rubber tapes of brushes of a screen wiper.
20. Check the operation of the windshield washers, the position of the windshield washer jets. Add glass washer fluid.
21. Check battery charge and electrolyte level in cells.
Additional work during maintenance
Additional work on cars manufactured before 3/01 is carried out every 30,000 kilometers, and on cars manufactured from 4/01 - every 60,000 kilometers.
- Replace spark plugs on petrol vehicles.
- Replace the air filter element for petrol vehicles.
- Check the condition and tension of the V-belt. Replace the belt if necessary.
- Replace cabin filter (dust filter) for vehicles with petrol engines.
- Check the condition of the exhaust system
- Every three years
- Change the brake fluid.
Vehicles produced before 3/01. The brake fluid is changed every three years or at 60,000 kilometers.
Cars of release since 4/01. The brake fluid is changed every four years or at 60,000 kilometers.
- Replace fuel filter.
- Replace the air cleaner element for diesel vehicles.
- Drum brakes. Remove and check the residual thickness of the brake pads.
- SHRUS cuffs. Check their condition and tightness.
- Tie rod ends. Check the play and fastening, as well as the condition of the dust caps.
- Steering. Check the condition and tightness of the cuffs.
Every 85,000 kilometers or at least every six years
Vehicles with a 1.4-/1.6-liter petrol engine (K4J/ K4M) release before 9/99. Replace timing belt.
Every 120 kilometers
All models except 1.4-/1.6-litre petrol vehicles (K4J/K4M) release before 9/99. Replace timing belt.
Attention! The intervals for maintenance and replacement of oils and fluids can be optionally changed by the manufacturer. This applies especially to replacing the timing belt. It is recommended to contact specialized RENAULT car repair shops for information.
