Fuel pump relay — check

Relay B for the fuel pump is located in the relay box on the left side of the engine compartment (see illustration). Through it, voltage is supplied to the fuel pump.



If, to check fuel injection, it is necessary to turn on the fuel pump without starting the engine, then the relay should be disconnected, and terminals 3 and 5 should be bridged with a piece of wire with a diameter of 1.5 mm.

Attention! The condition for checking the status of the fuel pump relay is that the battery is fully charged.

1. Check the fuel injection system fuse. The purpose of the fuses is indicated on the cover of the fuse box.

2. Remove the fuel pump relay B (see illustration 2.0).

3. Bridge contacts 3 and 5 of the relay with a piece of wire. The designation of the contacts is stamped on the relay contacts themselves. Be careful not to damage the relay contacts themselves with the jumper. When the power is turned on, the noise of the running fuel pump should be heard. If the fuel pump works, then the relay must be replaced. Otherwise, it is necessary to check the power wires of the relay and the fuel pump and, if necessary, replace the wires.
