Removing the steering knuckle (Renault Symbol 2, 2008-2013, petrol)

Withdrawal:

turn on the parking brake;
raise the front of the vehicle, place safety supports under the body and remove the appropriate wheel;
unscrew the hub nut (see subsection «Front wheel drive»);
unscrew the two bolts securing the brake caliper to the steering knuckle and hang the caliper on a wire hook away from the working area, without pulling the brake hose;
remove the ABS sensor (if installed) and tie it away from the work area;
unscrew the nut that secures the steering knuckle to the steering knuckle and use a puller to press the hinge pin out of the steering knuckle;
unscrew the nut and remove the bolt of the clamp securing the lower arm to the steering knuckle. Using a suitable lever, remove the ball joint from the swing arm housing, being careful not to damage the CV joint boot and the plastic protective gasket of the joint;
unscrew the two nuts of the bolts securing the lower part of the shock absorber strut to the steering knuckle and remove the bolts;
Disconnect the outer joint of the drive shaft from the hub with a drift and remove the steering knuckle.
Installation is carried out as follows:
clean the splined surfaces of the hub and drive shaft;
in the case of using a Nyloc hub nut, apply a special anaerobic sealant to the splines of the drive shaft;
insert the splines of the drive shaft into the hub as far as it will go;
aligning the holes in the steering knuckle and the lower part of the shock absorber strut, insert the bolts into them and secure them with nuts, installing the nuts at the rear along the direction of the car;
install a new hub nut without completely tightening it;
insert the ball joint pin of the lower arm into the steering knuckle, making sure that there is a protective plastic gasket, install the clamp bolt and tighten its nut;
install the steering knuckle pivot pin in the hole of the steering knuckle and tighten the new nut;
perform other operations in the reverse order of removal;
make sure the wheel spins freely;
check and, if necessary, adjust the angles of the front wheels.
