Silencer repair

Exhaust pipe of monobloc design, i.e. it does not have detachable connections to the muffler. If it is necessary to replace the main or auxiliary muffler (Spare parts are supplied separately) put two marks on the pipe at a distance of 45 mm (P1 and P2) from the incision site (D).



1. With cutter Mot. 1199-01 cut the pipe between the marked marks.

2. Carefully install the repair sleeve.

Note:

• Cutter Mot. 1199-01 is designed for cutting pipes with wall thickness up to 2 mm.
• Repair sleeves are commercially available.

3. Apply sealing mastic to the pipe ends (number 7701421161), install the pipes in the sleeve.

4. Insert the inner lugs into the sleeve until they stop.



5. The bushing nut must be installed so as to avoid touching the body and other adjacent parts.



6. Slightly tighten the bushing nut and center the pipe. Tighten the nut completely.

7. Bushing nut has a groove (A). The correct tightening of the nut corresponds to a slight click and the groove becomes invisible (tightening torque approx. 25 Nm).
