Tightening torques:
- Brake caliper bolts - 40 Nm
- Lower ball joint nut - 55 Nm
- Shock absorber support bolt - 180 Nm
- Wheel bolt - 90 Nm
- Tie rod ball joint nut - 40 Nm
- Drain plug - 65 Nm
To replace the differential seal, the corresponding wheel drive shaft must be removed.
Replacement order:
- disconnect the wire from the negative terminal of the battery;
- place the car on a lift and drain the transmission fluid as described above;
- remove the front wheel from the desired side;
- disconnect the drive shaft assembly from the desired side, as described in subsection «Front wheel drive». It is not necessary to completely remove the shaft, you can leave it attached to the hub and disconnect it from the gearbox by moving the hub to the side. Tie the shaft away from the work area so as not to damage the rubber boots;
Attention! Do not drop the sealing lip spring of the stuffing box inside the automatic transmission.
- remember the seating depth of the old oil seal, then remove it by prying it with a screwdriver. Work carefully so as not to drop the oil seal or its spring into the crankcase;
- Wipe the oil seal seat in the gearbox housing and lubricate the working edges of the new oil seal with clean gearbox fluid. Carefully press the stuffing box with a mandrel, resting it only on the hard outer edges of the stuffing box, into the seat with the working edges inward to a predetermined depth;
- install the drive shaft assembly;
- fill the box with working fluid;
- install the wheel, lower the car;
- connect the wire to the negative terminal of the battery.
